Comandoo privacy policy

Last updated: October 10, 2026 (app version 1.12.1).

Comandoo is a remote control app for TVs and TV devices on your Wi-Fi network. This page explains plainly what data the app uses, why, where it is kept and for how long. The app has no ads, no account, and does not sell or share your data.

Who is responsible

Diego Cruz (an individual), Belém, Pará, Brazil.
Contact and data protection officer (LGPD): suporte@comandoo.online.

What stays on your phone and what leaves it

DataWhere it goes
Commands sent to the TV, TV list, IP and MAC addresses, pairing keys, favorites, theme, language and settingsNever leave the phone. They stay in the app's private storage and on your local network (home Wi-Fi).
Photos and videos you send to the TVNot sent to the internet. The phone serves them straight to the TV over your local network while the sending lasts.
Random device code (generated by the app, unrelated to your name, phone number, e-mail or Android identifiers)Sent to the announcements and reports server, together with the app version, the brand of the last TV used and the language, when the app checks for announcements.
Announcement events: delivered, opened, tapped, dismissedSent to the same server, with the device code.
A report, only if you send one: text and subject, TV brand and model (optional), app version, phone brand and model, Android version, language, connection state and up to 40 recent connection eventsSent to the server. Before leaving the phone, the app hides the last number of IP addresses, MAC addresses and e-mails that appear in the text or events.
Report photos, only if you attach them (up to 2)Sent to the server after being shrunk (longest side up to 1600 px) and stripped of metadata such as date and location. Only the responsible team can see them.
Public lists of frequently asked questions, compatible TVs and announcementsThe app only downloads these files (from GitHub and the server). Nothing of yours goes with them beyond what is described above.

What we use the data for

Legal basis (Brazilian LGPD, art. 7): your consent when you send a report or photo, and legitimate interest in delivering announcements and measuring their reach, always with the minimum data.

Where it is kept and who processes it

The announcements and reports server is operated by Supabase (a database and storage service provider), with data hosted in São Paulo, Brazil (region sa-east-1). The public lists (questions, compatible TVs and announcements) are served by GitHub. As with any internet service, these servers receive your connection's IP address in order to answer; the app does not store that IP in Comandoo's tables, but those providers' technical logs follow their own policies.

Data is not sold, rented or passed to third parties for advertising or any other purpose.

How long we keep it

What we do not do

No ads. No account or login. No sale or sharing of data. No tracking across apps and no use of the advertising ID. The app does not read your contacts, location, microphone (voice command uses Android's own speech recognition screen, and the app only receives the recognized text) or files, other than the photos and videos you choose to send to the TV or attach to a report.

Permissions the app asks for

Your rights (LGPD)

You can ask for access, correction or deletion of the data linked to your device, among other rights under Brazilian Law 13.709/2018. Send an e-mail to suporte@comandoo.online with the device code, which the app shows under Settings › Privacy › Device code (tap to copy). Without it we cannot find your data, because the app keeps no name or e-mail. Copy the code before uninstalling the app. We answer within 15 days. You may also complain to Brazil's National Data Protection Authority (ANPD).

Children

Comandoo is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

If anything changes, the new version will be published on this page with the update date at the top. Important changes will also be announced in the app.
